2/8/12
Ok so, Happy Birthday Jeremiah!! My big brother who probably has never looked at my blog but I don't care, just in case you do today, Happy Birthday and I love you!!! If today is your Birthday... I really hope so, its either today or yesterday, haha, yea anyway, love you!

So yes, I have another song of the day, I found this posted on Facebook and I have loved this song forever, so you can listen to it as you read.
Somebody that I use to Know -- Walk off the Earth

Now to my day... Today was soooo cool!!! This morning wasn't my favorite because I had to wake up what felt like really early but was actually about nine, but still I was tired and needed to sleep. Class didn't start until about 11 but we all needed to be ready to be in the classroom by ten because a police officer came to tell us what we needed to do if we got into some trouble and how to talk our way out of certain situations with the police while we are here :) It turns out that he had been buzzing our room to try to get in the building but when Jenna and I looked out the window and saw some guy who we didn't know standing by the door we decided to ignore him and not let him in. Which he later told us is what we are suppose to do just to be safe so yay us!

When the officer was finished scaring the crap out of us with horror stories from the streets and loud alarms that we are apparently suppose to carry around with us in order to prevent date rape it was a little after 11 and cutting into our class time.

Class today actually felt like a real class!! We discussed the two plays that we had gone to see last week and started to discuss the reading that we had to do of Virginia Woolf's A Street Haunting, which I totally recommend by the way! We had too much to discuss today though and needed to leave before we were finished and need to finish the class tomorrow while on the bus at 8:30 in the friggen morning!!! My mind is not going to be functional at that time but Natania does not know that yet so hopefully I will be able to hide it ok!!

We had to leave our class before we were all done but that was ok because we also took another field trip today, to the Globe Theatre!!!

I had shown you all pictures of the theatre from our first tour around the city but today we finally got to go in!!!
The stage in the Globe Theatre

Picture of Perseus holding the head of Medusa-Reminded me of two of my classes with Prof. Mockridge this last semester :)

Door in the back room of the theatre

View from the stage of the theatre

Another of the stage

Another view of the seats

Two little boys that were also with a group and working so hard for the attention of everyone in the theatre.

After we saw the theatre the lady that was giving us the tour gave us a bit of an acting lesson in a warmer room in a building connecting to the theatre. This was a very good thing because if I had sat on that seat outside much longer my butt would have frozen to the bench and I would still be stuck there!! We also got a bit of a history and religious lesson about the reason why the theatre is on the other side of the river than the city is, since it was something that was cast out from the city which was meant for development, economic prosperity, and work. The Puritans also needed to make sure the theatres stayed out of the city since any form of "play" was deceitful and therefore sinful since the actors were in a form lying by pretending to be someone else. Yay sneaky history/religious lessons!!

The rest of my day was very uneducational, and very American. Hannah, Jenna, and I had bought tickets a week ago and planned a whole night out. The plan was to be good european explorers and go to an ethnic restaurant, funnily called My Big Fat Greek (can you guess what kind of food they serve?). Well that didn't work out because we couldn't find the place and so we went to, please don't judge us, a Mexican restaurant. And not only any Mexican restaurant but this one...
Hahaha, there are no words.
If you think this is bad you should have seen the inside!! But they had pretty good food! If you are like me ever since you saw the movie Meet the Fockers you have wondered what the heck a chimichanga is, well I found out today, and it was great!! I also had a nice little drink with dinner.
Merlot Sangria
It was pretty and delicious!! Do dinner was bad enough, but we proved our American-ness even further by going out for coffee afterwards, oh no this is not the bad part, the bad part is that it was at Starbucks. So we tried to redeem ourselves by going to a nice theatre in London to catch a show. If you have been reading my previous posts, however, you would know that we went to a show that originated in America, Wicked. Haha. We are so awesome.
I do feel very American today but that is ok, because I would say that I had an awesome day! It was very fun and Wicked is a spectacular show!

By this point I would think that earlier is done and you would like to listen to another, do not fret my friends, for I have a remedy to your problem. This is another song that I have been listening to a lot. A very different style that the earlier one, but very catchy and entertaining! Enjoy!

Peter Fox--Alles Neu

Oh yea, its in German, so you might not understand it. But trust me, its a good one!!

That's all from me today, good night all!!
