 2/1/12
Hello Everyone!!! Third day of classes, and I am still loving them!! No Andrew today :) But Natania is awesome!!! So this was the first day of our literary kind of class about London, which incorporates all the plays that we are going to see every week, which I will cover more later on in this post.

Class started at 11 today and apparently went for two hours but it really did not feel like that. I do not feel like I am in school at all right now, everything here is just so beautiful and wonderful and full of history, I am in Heaven. After class a group of us decided to go and explore some of the city on our own. Since we had to be in the West End by all of the theatres we left about five hours earlier than we needed to be there to just walk around and check everything out, and it was worth it!!

We needed to start out getting some of our touristy attitudes out of the way, and that is where these come from...

Yea we freaked when we saw these

Got to ring up my peps

Haha, I was a little excited myself

And so really close to these lovely booths was Trafalgar Square. Yes, there will be those pretty pictures posted but first everyone needs to see two of the entertainers that we found there.

The first guy you see here, the silver man, was awesome!! He did a very good job of keep so still even though it was absolutely freezing outside! Yes he did keep still, but was also so fun when someone gave him money, by shaking the persons hand and tipping his hat to them. One of my new friends here, Kelsey, experienced this when she gave him a few pence for his work. The guy on the bottom wasn't as impressive, he was juggling knives, which yes it is cool but he kept trying to a certain trick and messing up, so he looses points there. He still deserved to have his picture put up though since he also did some back flips after this performance.

And now on to some more pretty pictures.

I think this is King George...

After we left the square we went exploring some of the shops on the surrounding sweets. In order to get to one of those streets we had to pass this lovely area

Panoramic view!!!

So this looks like a straight road but it actually is a view around a round-about. I didn't take any pictures of the shops on this street, but after about an hour of wandering we found some of the cutest and most awesome shops ever.
Sweet Shop!!

SO MUCH CANDY!!

This is outside of a cute little cupcake shop

I'm just going to call this a knick-knack shop, so many colorful, well just stuff

A very modern looking fro-yo place. Adorable!

I really wish I could write and post pictures about everything that I saw today but there was just so much, so now I am going to have to stick to the most important. Ok, just one more for fun,
Yupp, that's me with David Beckham
Ok, moving on! Now for some more academic information. We came across a cute garden, which I thought at first was just, well a cute garden in the middle of the city, but no, it led to an awesome church. It was called St. Paul's Church, by Covent Garden. It is also known as the Actor's Church basically because a bunch of actors contributed a bunch of money to build it.

Yea, the church was pretty darn awesome. After the church several more stores were discovered and after a couple of hours we finally decided that it was time to head over near the area where our play would be held. We later found out, however, that we were already near the area where our play would be held, pretty much just around the corner. Haha, oops. No matter, we just headed back with the rest of our group and searched for a place to eat before our show.

Jack, Alex, Hannah, Jenna and I found a cute little Italian restaurant to try out.

Isn't it cute?!?!

So we all got a different meal,
Jenna's Carbonara

Hannah's Lasagna

Jack's Spaghetti

Alex's Risotto

And I somehow lost the picture of my Pesto, but it was delicious! I know food we ate isn't entertaining to all of you, but I just think they made it all look so pretty.

I promise you that I did do educational things today! As mentioned we had that class in the morning with Natania and then after dinner we went to go see the play the Pitmen Painters at the Duchess Theatre. The play was about a group of mine workers who start taking an art appreciation class and in order to try to better understand art begin making paintings of their own, their paintings eventually became very famous, hence a play being written about them. I obviously couldn't take any pictures of the play itself but....

So that was basically my day. It was very long and I had gotten basically no sleep, and when I got back to the flat I decided I had to do laundry and had an episode wherein I freaked out royally because I could not figure out the washing machine!! I have decided I am going to wash my clothes in the bathtub in the basement from now on. It sounds kind of sketchy but I never want to deal with that machine again.

Oh, before I close this post I apparently need to print a rebuttal to a previous post. I apologize to all HP Sauce enthusiasts out there...
You all might remember this photo

It has come to my attention that I have insulted a sauce which is loved by many, and I wish to send out a message telling all those I may have offended that this was not my intention with my previous post. HP Sauce is not one of my favorite condiments, but it should not be discriminated against because of its strong vinegar flavor.

Ok, that is all for today, gooday all!!
